Hello Friends this is the story of our week.

A handful of beans

The food garden is coming to life with the warm spring weather so I have been planting a few more bits and pieces with broad beans going in this week along the fence. We still have Girlie. You will be glad to know I didn’t swap her for my handful of beans.

I’m not sure if I have told you but we were given a goose found on the road near the local primary school. Can you see how her wings aren’t right? How they stick out sideways? Apparently this is called Angel wings and this deformity means she can’t fly. She has gone clucky and taken up a position near our front dam where she has made a nest. She doesn’t have a drake so unfortunately she won’t hatch a brood.

I started a Facebook group this week for people in our region to sell their excess produce and product like jams, preserves etc. It is called Derwent Valley Local Produce – buy, sell & swap. Think of it like an online roadside stall but the stuff doesn’t have to sit out in the sun!

Pengo

Look what I bought! A lovely little original pen and watercolour painting by Maz Davies, Her shop is https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/MazDaviesDraws It came wrapped in brown paper then the band of paper cut from Maz’s sketch pad. AND the lovely little personal note to boot. All so lovely and treasurable. I will show you how he looks when he is in a frame and he has a special spot here at Stanton. Pengo love x

next project2

Next crochet project. I THINK it will be squares which I’ll join together. Not completely sure about the colour scheme… we’ll see how it goes hey?

Do you like my handmade 'organic' plate? The little bowl and tiny vase in the background are mine too. I am having lots of fun learning how to make pots by hand and on the wheel. Glazing soon!
